May I have a word with you?
I “got to thinking” one day about the word “word”. Words carry immense power, don’t they? Some of the words I have spoken have helped to inspire, persuade, encourage, and connect people. I’m grateful to have played a small part in making others’ lives a bit better. On the other hand, I have also regretted words of mine the split-second they came off my tongue and out of my mouth. Once spoken, they cannot be withdrawn. That’s painful to admit, but it’s certainly true.
Words serve as the primary means through which we convey ideas, emotions, and information. We can use them to influence both personal relationships and the world around us, right?
So, I “got to thinking” some more and decided to take a quick look at just one word each weekday and – well – think about it. Then, it seemed like a good idea to share some of those thoughts with you. Time will tell whether it was a good idea or not!
So, may I have a word with you each weekday? Let’s see where they take us. Have fun as you “get to thinking” about some words.
